At Killarney Innovation Centre, we are proud to lead by example in embracing sustainable practices that make a real difference. Our recent green initiatives are already having a positive impact on our carbon footprint and the local environment.
🌞 Solar Energy for a Greener Future
We’ve installed a state-of-the-art solar array to significantly reduce our reliance on the main electricity grid. By harnessing renewable energy, we are cutting carbon emissions while promoting cleaner, more sustainable operations.
🌱 Boosting Biodiversity
We’re supporting local ecosystems with a biodiversity planting scheme that includes native hedgerows and carefully selected pollinator-friendly species. These efforts help preserve local wildlife, enhance natural beauty, and contribute to ecological balance.
đź’§ Smart Water & Waste Management
Our newly planted rainwater planters in our courtyard area, and the rear slope help planting to manage runoff naturally while adding vibrant greenery to the site. We’ve also introduced composting bins to reduce organic waste and promote circular practices among clients and visitors.
Together, these actions reflect our commitment to environmental responsibility, innovation, and community wellbeing. We believe that small steps today pave the way for a more sustainable tomorrow.
A big thank you to the department of the environment for supporting us in our environmental endeavours. MĂle BuĂochas.
