Start-up’s Success in European Innovation Council Funding applications

Five innovative companies based in Ireland have been successful in receiving a combined €20.5 million in funding. The monies have been made available from the European Commission through the European Innovation Council Accelerator.

The EIC had received over 2700 applications from across Europe to gain access to the funding stream. Sixty-five applicants in total were successful in gaining access to funding and the Irish companies that have been successful are Aveta Medical, Akara Robitics, CrannMed, Contego Sports and ProVerum. In relation to the number of companies that have been recommended for funding Ireland has ranked fourth on par with Denmark and behind France, Germany, and the Netherlands.

LinkedIn entered the China Market in 2014 as they had agreed to abide by Chinas strict censorship laws. It is one of the few major US tech companies that have entered the market but have now decided that it is leaving one of its biggest markets due to the challenges that exist in the territory with strict regulation.nd the Netherlands.

Hush Booths

We are delighted to have our three new Hush Booths in situ. They are located in the green room, Unit 5, and the link connection to allow a level of privacy while making calls and video conferencing. This was all made possible from funding received through the connected hubs Call through the Department of Rural and Community Development and the KIC. The KIC is continuing an investment program in the Centre to upgrade and add to the Centres facilities.
