We are delighted to be a part of a Erasmus Teacher Exchange program and have welcomed Tobias and Timo from Wirtschaftsschule, Gunzenhausen, Germany to the Centre for two weeks where they worked on various projects during that time. Below is a brief outline of their experiences in the Centre and Killarney town and surrounds.
Greetings from the heart of innovation, Killarney! We’re two teachers from Germany, currently immersed in an enriching internship at the Killarney Innovation Centre. Our mission? To share insights into the dynamic innovation landscape back in Germany while lending a hand with various projects around the centre.
Accompanying us on this incredible journey are eleven bright minds, participants in the Erasmus program—a European Union initiative that promotes international exchange and cooperation in education. Aged 18 to 24, they’re scattered across local businesses and hotels, diving headfirst into their respective internships. The enthusiasm and dedication they’ve shown have been nothing short of inspiring.
As our time here draws to a close, we can’t help but reflect on the myriad experiences we’ve shared. The warmth and hospitality extended by the Killarney community have left an indelible mark on us. We’re sad to bid farewell come Saturday, but we leave with hearts full of gratitude and memories that will last a lifetime.
Exploring the breathtaking sights around Killarney has been a true highlight. From the majestic Muckross House to the awe-inspiring Torc Waterfall, every corner of this town exudes its own unique charm. A trip to Dingle and a tour to Slea Head only added to the grandeur of our Irish adventure.
We’d like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the Killarney Innovation Centre for their warm welcome and invaluable insights. The Twinning Association, along with the gracious host families and businesses, have made our stay truly exceptional. Without their support, this experience wouldn’t have been possible.
As we prepare to bid farewell to this enchanting town, our hearts are filled with gratitude and our minds with a wealth of new knowledge. Our journey continues, but Killarney will always hold a special place in our hearts.
